The Philadelphia Eagles made the expected move on June 1 by trading wide receiver AJ Brown to the New England Patriots in exchange for multiple draft picks.

This move had been the focus of countless reports throughout the offseason, but it finally occurred after a pivotal date. June 1 marked the point where the Eagles could split Brown's salary cap hit over two seasons instead of dealing with it all at once.

But while this move may not have surprised anyone who pays attention to the NFL, it did not make everyone happy. The fans of the Philadelphia Eagles certainly had split reactions to the trade.

Some fans of the Eagles said that they will miss the big receiver. The others...took a different approach while indicating that they will quickly move on.

Fans of the Patriots, for comparison, just turned their attention to the rival Bills. They cared more about how the Josh Allen-led Bills failed to reach the Super Bowl while the Patriots worked through the post-Tom Brady days.

Another group of Patriots fans showed that they also care more about the jersey that Brown will wear during the 2026-27 season. They want the team to go back to the jerseys that Brady and Randy Moss used during the 2007 NFL season.
