Despite winless season, Hue Jackson planning as if he’ll be back in 2018

The Browns may not win a single game.

The Cleveland Browns are currently 0-15 and it doesn't look like a win this season is on the horizon.

With their final game left to play at 12-3 Pittsburgh, more than likely the Browns will finish the 2017 NFL season without a single win, being the first team to do that since the 0-16 2008 Detroit Lions.

So yeah, even for a franchise that hasn't been known for playing great football and winning championships, this is a very low point for Cleveland.

Still, perhaps inexplicably, head coach Hue Jackson is planning as if he'll be back in 2018. Here's a recent report from cleveland.com, which lays out Jackson's plans for the offense in '18:

"Hue Jackson, who's come under fire for some of his playcalling and decision-making this season, will hire an offensive coordinator in 2018 and is willing to hand over playcalling duties, league sources tell cleveland.com.

He's already identified his list of candidates and will begin interviewing after the season.

Jackson said on Dec. 7 that he was open to hiring a coordinator for 2018, but now it's definite that he'll add one, sources confirm for cleveland.com."

There is one very "Cleveland-esque" thing to mention in the above report.

It's the fact that it was mentioned that Jackson has "come under fire for some of his playcalling and decision making this season". That's all fine and dandy for a coach who perhaps went 6-10 or heck, even 2-14, but for a coach who hasn't won a single game in 2017?

That should be the main reason Jackson is under fire, and it should be a non-starter.

If you can't win a single game in the NFL, a league that has worked hard to create more competition between teams than you shouldn't be the head coach.

End of story, Cleveland. It should be the end of story.
