Jaguar Fans Throw Trash at Texans Al-Shaair After Ejection

Those emotions boiled over in the second quarter. As Jaguars' starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence went to slide down after a long-run, Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair met Lawrence with a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit that left him stretched out on the field.

The hit led to a major scuffle that spilled onto the Jacksonville sideline as they were irate about the late hit on their quarterback. The Texans' linebacker was ultimately ejected from the game for the hit and had to be escorted out of the stadium by security. As Al-Shaair was being escorted out Jacksonville fans showered him with a chorus of boos and threw trash at the Texans linebacker still upset about the late hit on Lawrence.

DeMeco Ryans Gets Candid on Jacksonville Matchup

To make things even worse, Lawrence was already questionable coming into this game after suffering a shoulder injury. Ahead of their matchup against the Jaguars matchup, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans stressed the importance of them executing their game plan, no matter who is under center for Jacksonville.

"We're excited to go against whoever lines up at quarterback for them. This week really isn't about the Jags. It's all about the Texans, so whoever goes out there really has no bearing on what we're doing," Ryans said.

"We're just trying to go out and execute and play our brand of football. Play the best that we can play and that's it."

He also expressed his confidence in his team to get the job done this week.

"Our guys have attacked this week the right way. They've attacked with the right mindset," Ryans addded,. "Just being out on the practice field today. Guys are dialed in and locked in on what we're doing. They're flying around. Energy is up, so I'm happy to see just the way that we came out to practice today. It's a great indicator of us having a really great week."
