Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested on first-degree battery charges on June 19 for allegedly pushing a woman's face with his open hand into a glass window after she refused to give him her number.
According to Action News Jax, Skuta approached the woman, flirted with her and shoved her face into the window after a brief argument around 2:30 a.m.
Skuta reportedly had bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath. He was held on $500 bond, and was released the next morning.
The Jaguars have released a statement:
"The Jaguars are aware of the situation involving linebacker Dan Skuta and are currently gathering more information. The team has been in constant communication with Dan through this process in its entirety. No further comment can be made at this time."
Skut, in his eighth season, is expected to fight for a starting spot with Jacksonville.
