Jared Goff did a thing on Monday Night Football. NFL fans were treated to some creative playcalling by the Detroit Lions that set up a Goff receiving touchdown in the third quarter. Instantly, social media began to take off as Goff put an exclamation point on his impressive primetime start.
At the seven-yard line in Seattle's territory, Goff field the shotgun snap before pitching it behind him to a sweeping Amon-Ra St. Brown. The wide receiver than paused on a dime as he headed towards the far sideline before swinging a pass down the right-side to Goff, who had just sprinting past a lacking linebacker.
"Who had that on the bingo card," yelled a surprised Joe Buck as Goff casually hauled in the catch for six, putting Detroit up 28-14 point.

"My favorite part of the Goff TD catch might have been the ball security fundamentals after the catch lol," one fan wrote on X.
Another X user added, "Anytime you can get Jared Goff on a linebacker in coverage you gotta exploit it."
"Jared Goff has the same amount or more receiving TDs as any single Cowboys receiver not named CeeDee Lamb," another astute X user commented.
How unique was this Goff receiving touchdown? It marked just the second time ever in Detroit history that a receiver has linked up with a signal-caller before. The only other time in 2019 when Danny Amendola connected with David Blough for a 19-yard score.
"Jared Goff has more receiving TDs this season than Travis Kelce," an X user revealed.
For Goff, that was his first career receiving touchdown. It was also just his second-ever reception. His last catch, which went for five yards, came in 2022. That was also a major accomplishment for St. Brown. It was his first pass in the NFL and of course, his first passing touchdown.
