Jason Kelce Says Nothing Cute About Tom Brady Roast: 'My Family Is Ruined, It's So Funny'

Count Jason Kelce among those who weren't all that impressed with the Tom Brady roast on Netflix. For starters, Kelce doesn't think taking potshots at Brady's family life — or particularly his divorce from model Gisele Bundchen — should result in a bunch of laughs.

"It was pure entertainment and I'm really happy they did it but I just don't get the roasts," Kelce said on the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with brother Travis. "I don't know why people do it. Maybe I take myself too seriously ... It was star-studded. The best part about it was how many just iconic NFL and celebrities of immense stature that were there."

Kelce retired as an offensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. He will someday be headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. But that doesn't mean he has to love everything about what happens in NFL circles.

"That being said, I really don't f-king get it," Kelce added. "I don't get why people do roasts. I don't get why they are a thing. Haha, yeah, my family's ruined, it's so funny, everyone's laughing, it's great, we're having fun, yeah right.'"

Brady did indeed take plenty of good-natured barbs about Bundchen and her relationship with her karate instructor. Some will tell you they went too far, though — and reports suggest even Bundchen was among them.

For instance, a source told People that Bundchen was "deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening's roast show."

The source added, "As always, [Bundchen's] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted."

Again, Jason Kelce seems to get that. Broken families are no laughing matter.
