The New York Post first reported the news and provided a copy of the jail intake form. Cutler, 41, was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee, Thursday evening on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a handgun while under the influence.

Cutler was also arrested for two other violations — a failure to exercise due care and a violation of implied consent law.

According to TMZ Sports, Cutler was released on a $5,000 bond. The Williamson County Jail record shows that the release time was 9:59 p.m. CT.

Cutler, a former first-round pick out of Vanderbilt, entered the NFL in 2006. He started his career with the Denver Broncos and posted a 17-20 record. His best season was 2008 as he threw for 4,526 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. He made the Pro Bowl after the season.

Cutler departed Denver after the 2008 season and headed to the Windy City. He took over as the Bears' starting quarterback in 2009 and remained in this position through the 2016 season.

The veteran quarterback posted a 51-51 record over his eight seasons with Chicago. This included an 11-5 season in 2010 and a 10-6 season in 2012.

The Bears reached the NFC Championship Game in 2010 but fell to the rival Packers in a game that Cutler left due to a knee injury. The Bears missed the playoffs in 2012 after the 10-6 Vikings eliminated them in the final week of the regular season by defeating the Packers.

Cutler's final season in the NFL was 2017. He started 14 games for the Dolphins and posted 6-8 record. He missed one game due to a rib injury and another game due to a concussion.

The Vanderbilt grad has remained away from the NFL since this stint in South Florida. He made numerous appearances on a reality TV show featuring his former wife, Kristin Cavallari, with whom he shares three children.
