Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer provided the update during an appearance on Radio Row in New Orleans, Louisiana. He shut down the idea that Wilson would return as starting quarterback for the Steelers. He also provided an update about the rumors linking the former Seahawks quarterback to the Raiders.
"That's not going to happen," Glazer said about Wilson heading to Las Vegas. He then continued and spoke about a Steelers reunion.
"I don't think that's going to happen either. I think you'll see a new start for Russell, yeah."

With Wilson likely heading to a different team in free agency, does this mean that Justin Fields will be the starter for the Steelers? After all, he began last season atop the depth chart and led the Black and Yellow to a 4-2 record before Wilson took over.
According to Glazer, the answer is no. He doesn't think that Fields will reclaim the starting job in 2025.
As the insider explained, the Steelers were at the Senior Bowl, the top showcase of the next generation of players. After that, the AFC North team would prepare for the Scouting Combine and free agency.
"I don't think they know who their starting quarterback is going to be yet," Glazer said about the Steelers.
If Wilson does not return to the Steelers, where will he head? Several teams could seek a reset at the most important position in the NFL, so he could have some options.
The Jets have not revealed whether they will bring Aaron Rodgers back for the 2025 season. The Browns have significant questions after Deshaun Watson suffered a setback in his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon. Jameis Winston is a free agent.
The Raiders need a starter for next season, but Glazer said this is not an option. The Giants released Daniel Jones midway through last season and struggled with Tommy DeVito, Tim Boyle, and Drew Lock under center. The Colts have openly stated that they will bring in competition for former first-round pick Anthony Richardson.
