An NFL head coach has been canned after a miserable start

Unreal.

The Los Angeles Rams have fired Jeff Fisher just over a week after agreeing on a two-year extension with the head coach.

The firing comes on the heels of a lopsided 42-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Fisher's Rams dropped to 4-9 on the year after the loss, and it's been a relatively confusing year in Los Angeles. Despite taking Jared Goff No. 1 overall, the head coach refused to move to the top quarterback until late in the season.

Fisher tied Dan Reeves as the losingest head coach in NFL history on Sunday, as his record dropped to 173-165-1.

Fisher's crowning achievement as a head coach came when he led the Tennessee Titans to a Super Bowl berth, where his team fell one yard short of victory against the St. Louis Rams.

The move comes following reports that Jim Harbaugh would be interested in the job.
