The Dallas Cowboys are riding the hot hand — at least for now.
After leading the Cowboys past the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling Sunday night slate, Dak Prescott was officially named the starter for Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns:
Prescott had his fair share of struggles Sunday night, as Philly brought plenty of pressure and stayed in the quarterback's face. He was relatively inaccurate, missing on big throws numerous times and his timing looked significantly off with Dez Bryant. But Prescott put things together and helped Dallas survive to move to 6-1 on the season.
But it wasn't as much a glowing recommendation for Prescott as it was a realization that Tony Romo simply isn't ready to play just yet, per 247sports.
"There's no need of pushing [Tony Romo] that fast." said Jones, via Brandon George of Dallas Morning News. "Tony is not ready to play. There's no need of pushing it that fast. That's more about Tony's health than any other issues."
Prescott has 144 completions for 1,773 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions thus far.
