Jerry Jones promises the return of much-needed help on the defensive side of the ball

Jerry Jones promises return of Cowboys pass rusher.

The Dallas Cowboys are among the league's worst at getting to the quarterback, but that could see a bump in the right direction with the return of defensive end Randy Gregory.

Gregory is now eligible to rejoin the team after serving a 14-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, and according to owner Jerry Jones, he will "absolutely" play in the Cowboys next two games.

"Absolutely you will," Jones told 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show Tuesday when asked if fans can expect to see Gregory play against the Lions and the Eagles. "We need him. We want him...Yeah, we anticipate seeing him in a game."

A second-round pick in 2015, Gregory has yet to emerge as the standout pass rusher he was expected to be. He appeared in 12 games last season and recorded 12 quarterback pressures, but failed to post one sack.

Jones is confident, however, that Gregory can make an immediate impact.

"I'm certainly disappointed that we haven't had more use of him," Jones continued. "But I haven't dismissed him from our future at all...He's cleared to play and we're going to give him every opportunity to really help us."
