Jets Fans Concerned After Aaron Rodgers Suffers Injury in Loss to Vikings

The New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings kicked off Week 5 with a neutral site game as both teams traveled across the pond to London as the league looks to expand its global reach. The Jets suffered a second straight loss to the Vikings as a 17-23 loss moves them to 2-3 on the year. However, the loss to the Vikings wasn't the biggest loss the Jets suffered in Week 5.

Fans Concerned After Aaron Rodgers Injury News

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Jets starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a sprained ankle in their loss on Sunday morning.

"Jets QB Aaron Rodgers told reporters he has a low ankle sprain," Pelissero tweeted on October 6.

Fans were concerned after learning of the injury to Rodgers.

"I appreciate Aaron Rodgers coming out of the darkness and choosing the Jets, then rehabbing an Achilles tear to get back to finishing what he started, but I wouldn't blame him if he said f**k this," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"The injury combined with the year off has done Aaron Rodgers zero favors. His health looks to be less than 50%," another fan added.

Things have appeared to be off with the Jets quarterback since their loss to the Broncos. The Broncos defense had their hands all over Rodgers and it appeared to be taking a toll on the All-Pro quarterback as the game waned on.

During the telecast, the NFL Network broadcast team noted several times how Rodgers looked a step slow against the Vikings. And after being sacked in the second half, Rodgers was clearly hurt grabbing at his ankle and crawling on the floor in agony. Rodgers stayed in the game but did not have much of an impact after throwing three picks.

Could Injury Impact Davante Adams, Jets Trade?

This latest injury news is a double-whammy of bad news for the Jets. If you are tardy to the party, New York is one of the top contenders to pry disgruntled All-Pro Receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Jets are considered one of Adams' preferred destinations. But a large reason for that was because he wanted to join forces with Rodgers, his former Green Bay Packers teammate.

If the injury to the Jets quarterback ends up being a significant one. That could be enough to make Adams ponder a change of heart about a trade to New York.
