Jets feel compelled to raise ticket prices despite being terrible

The New York Jets are 1-7, the season is beyond spiraling, and somehow the front office has found a way to frustrate fans even more.

As Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post reports, the Jets are raising season-ticket prices for 2026, and yes, fans are furious.

A team spokesperson tried to soften the blow, saying that "the more affordable seats" — including the upper deck and lower end zones — won't see any increase. But that still leaves 56 percent of MetLife Stadium facing higher prices, with hikes ranging from $5 to $10 per game.

Overall, the team says the average increase works out to 3.5 percent across the stadium.

The spokesperson also offered a shaky explanation, claiming the increase is partially due to the return of a "ninth home game."

"Last year they didn't pay for a full season of home games because of the London game," the team said. "That game comes back to us next year because we have nine home games."

That's not accurate, wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The Jets had eight regular-season home games and one neutral-site game this year. Next season, all AFC teams will again have eight true home games, not nine.

The extra game in 2026 will come in the preseason, not the regular schedule.

The math may not add up, but the message from ownership does. The Jets believe fans will keep paying no matter how ugly things get — even after a kid went viral yelling, "I hate this team!" following their last home loss.

Love 'em or hate 'em, the Jets know one thing: if fans keep buying tickets, there's no reason to change a thing.
