Former NFL player JJ Watt has taken issue with the caption used by a Major League Soccer (MLS) team to describe his family.

Real Salt Lake, Utah's MLS team, posted a photo that showed Watt walking down the tunnel with wife, former professional footballer Kealia Ohai Watt. They also had their older son, Koa, along for the family outing.
The team wrote, "Welcome to the Riot, (JJ Watt) and fam." The use of the generic "fam" is the part of the caption that irked Watt, who quickly fired back with a quote repost on social media.
"The woman in the photo grew up literally down the road, won 4 Utah state championships (1 in this exact stadium), Gatorade Player of the Year twice, National Player of the Year, scored the fastest first goal in USWNT history," Watt posted on X. "Could probably be worth a mention, but idk."

Kealia, a Utah native, played for the United States' youth national team. She attended the University of North Carolina and won a National Championship before becoming the second overall pick in the 2014 National Womens Soccer League Draft.
Her college teammate, Crystal Dunn, went to the Washington Spirit as the first overall pick, and then she landed with the Houston Dash.
Kealia spent six seasons playing professional soccer in Houston. She started 108 of the 114 matches in which she played, and she remained on the field for 9,212 minutes. She scored 28 goals and delivered 16 assists.
She moved to the Chicago Red Stars for the 2021 season, and she played in another 24 matches. Kealia scored five goals and added four assists as the team finished fourth in the NWSL.
Kealia has since retired from professional soccer. She and Watt expanded their family by welcoming son Niko in 2025. She has also contributed to Prime Video's coverage of the NWSL.
