ESPN's Jon Gruden isn't a fan of how the NFL uses Instant Replay

The former NFL head coach has a strong opinion about the NFL's usage of Instant Replay.

The NFL's Instant Replay system has caused a headache for fans, and even media members alike. The league's handling and usage of it is criticized quite a bit — there have been outrage regarding various calls including the Seahawks-Packers "Touchdown-interception" in 2012 to Dez Bryant's catch that was overturned during the playoffs last season. ESPN analyst Jon Gruden recently commented to Men's Fitness about his issues with Instant Replay.

"I would eliminate all of it. Everything's disputed now. Was he inbounds? Was it a turnover? It's taken the juice out of the stadium. There are too many timeouts. Let the people on the field officiate and hold them accountable. Look, there's going to be some bang-bang plays that have to be officiated. And who's going to make the decision? The instant replay man in New York City?"

While there would obviously be arguments for both sides of this — keeping Instant Replay or scrapping it — it's interesting that Gruden takes such a hard stance on this. We'll see if this, along with other NFL voices will cause the league to make any changes.
