Julian Edelman names top 5 wide receivers in NFL, leaves out superstar wideout

Simple mistake, or slight?

New England Patriots wideout Julian Edelman starred in his own Reddit AMA session, and he didn't get out without some controversy when naming his top five wide receivers in the NFL.

"Odell, Jordy Nelson, Steve Smith, Julio is the best, Demaryius Thomas...no particular order just guys that are."

It's hard to argue the obvious ones — Julio Jones has been incredible. Steve Smith has done it so long with many different quarterbacks.

But Demaryius Thomas hasn't quite been the same this year. While it definitely doesn't help that Peyton Manning's arm is fading, Thomas surely misses the complimentary pieces Denver once had.

Odell Beckham Jr. was fantastic as a rookie. In Year 2, he's not been quite the same.

How Edelman left Dez Bryant is astonishing. He's one of the best in the league with any quarterback on the field.

Some might argue Antonio Brown as well, but it's pretty clear what Ben Roethlisberger means with Michael Vick simply unable to get him the ball over the past two weeks.
