Leonard Fournette Avoids Injury After Car Catches on Fire While Driving

NFL free agent running back Leonard Fournette escaped serious injury after his car went up in flames while driving.

Leonard Fournette, a former NFL running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and current free agent, avoided serious injury Tuesday when his SUV caught fire while driving it.

The former top five draft pick posted a video to Instagram that included the charred luxury SUV on the side of a highway. There was no mention of what caused the fire, but the scene was something out of a movie.

"Man, it was one of those days today, but I would like to thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I'm still blessed," Fournette posted.

The Buccaneers released the 28-year-old in March, which he said was at his request. He had signed a three-year deal worth $21 million with an additional $3 million from incentives. Fournette cited Brady's retirement as a factor in his decision.

In 2022, Fournette rushed for 668 yards and caught 73 passes for 523 yards in 16 games. He had six touchdowns.
