L.A. Rams owner compares Jared Goff to this future Hall of Fame quarterback

Well, Jared Goff's expectations seem to be a tad bit high already in Los Angeles.

Talk about high expectations. It's been a little over one week since the Los Angeles Rams selected former Cal quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and the rookie already has gained huge praise. Rams owner Stan Kreonke recently compared Goff to four-time Pro Bowl future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner.

According to NFL.com, Kreonke had a conversation in 1998 with the Rams' coach at the time, Dick Vermeil. After a scrimmage in the preseason, Vermeil asked Kroenke for his opinion on who the team's third-string QB should be. Warner, who was still unknown at the time, struck Kroenke as the best guy for the job.

"... Nobody knew anything about Kurt, but I watched the scrimmage, and this is the similarity with Goff: I told Dick, 'OK, I've never played football, but you want my opinion? The kid from Northern Iowa can see. He's got vision,'" Kroenke told USA Today. "'It's like a really good point guard. Some guys have it, some guys don't. Whether it's Arena Football that gave it to him or whatever, but he can see.'

"And Jared has that. It's the vision thing."

Given Goff's high stock and being the No. 1 overall pick, his situation as a young NFL player is a little bit different than Warner's when he was just starting out. One thing's for sure — Goff will have some huge expectations on his hands during his rookie 2016-17 season.
