The Cowboys have starter Dak Prescott, backup Kellen Moore and undrafted rookie free agent Cooper Rush on their roster. The Cowboys were in the market for some more depth because QB Zac Dysert hurt his back.
In his career, the 36-year-old McCown has started 10 games and played for five different teams. He came into the league in 2004 as a fourth-round draft pick.
