'Madden NFL 27' Covers Revealed

EA Sports has kicked off June by answering an important question. The video game developer has revealed which player will grace the covers of Madden NFL 27 and the game's deluxe edition.

The annual football video game will feature Caleb Williams on the cover, marking the first time ever that a Chicago Bears player has been the face of the long-running video game. He will have two different poses depending on the edition.

The standard Madden NFL 27 will have Williams jumping over a city skyline while cocking his arm to throw a pass. This is partially a recreation of Michael Jordan's Jumpman pose.

The Deluxe Edition of the game will also feature Williams. It will have the Bears quarterback with his arms crossed and his hands on his shoulders, as if he is in the middle of the rubbing motion he does. His painted fingernails will feature logos for the NFL, the Bears' "C," and EA Sports.

This follows a season in which Williams and the Ben Johnson-led Bears returned to prominence. The NFC North team won the division with an 11-6 regular-season record. The Bears then defeated the Packers in the wild-card round before losing to the Rams in the divisional round.

Williams threw for a career-high 3,942 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions during the regular season. He threw for 416 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions in the two playoff games.

"Childhood dream, man," Williams said about his selection during an appearance on the New Heights podcast. "Mike Vick being on the cover, John Madden covers and these different things. So it's gonna go up for sure.

"It's probably gonna be one of the newer trophies for me, being able to put it up right next to all these other cooler trophies I have. Like I said, dream come true. They've never had two back to back, so let's see if we can... That's my thing. Let's see if I can go and make it back to back this year."
