The Patriots claimed Bennett from waivers on Thursday, one day after he was released from the Green Bay Packers.

Bennett has 23 catches for 233 yards in seven starts for the Packers this season. He bails from a Green Bay team that has struggled since quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down.

He rejoins a Patriots team he helped lead to the Super Bowl last season, catching 55 passes for 701 yards and seven scores. He'll likely move ahead of Dwayne Allen, who the Patriots traded for this summer and who has failed to acclimate in New England. He has zero catches on six targets.

Bennett is on a three-year, $21 million contract.
