In His Second Career NFL Game Marvin Harrison Jr. Accomplished Something That Hasn’t Been Done Since His Father Did It In 1996

During the first quarter of the Arizona Cardinals' 41-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams, Marvin Harrison Jr. had four catches and two touchdowns, which means he made NFL history, as this hasn't been done, since his dad Marvin Harrison Sr. also put up this stat line in (1996).

After a slightly disappointing Week 1 NFL debut, in which Harrison Jr. caught one pass for four yards, the former Ohio State wide receiver certainly showed out in his second career game.

To point out, on his first catch of the night, Harrison Jr. caught a 23-yard touchdown.

Then when looking at his second catch, it happened just two minutes later, and this time it was a 60-yard touchdown.

With this in mind, he accomplished this feat in just over six minutes into the game, also giving him bragging rights over the elder Harrison, as he put up 130+ yards in the first quarter.

In view of Harrison Sr., the 19th overall pick in the 1996 Draft, he had four catches for 87 yards along with two touchdowns in a first quarter during his rookie year (December 14, 1996). This happened with current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh as his quarterback vs. the Kansas City Chiefs during Week 16 of the 1996 season.

The expectations surrounding the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, are especially high as his Hall of Fame father, who he shares a name with, put up 14,480 receiving yards and accumulated 121 touchdowns throughout his 13-year career as an Indianapolis Colts wideout.

Despite the iconic performance, Harrison Jr. remained humble when speaking with reporters after the game, while citing he is more focused on being the target for all four of the incompletions that his quarterback Kyler Murray had (17-for-21, 266 yards, 3 touchdowns).
