Former All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas has gone scorched-earth on his current team.

Thomas — who has spent all seven of his NFL seasons playing for the New Orleans Saints — went on an angry tirade via X Tuesday, which included him taking shots at starting quarterback Derek Carr.
It all started when one X user replied to a Thomas post, saying "Mike if you can stay healthy, you'll have the stats you had when Drew [Brees] was around."
Thomas replied: "well if I didn't get set up by a bad ball I probably would've had a light little 1k yards this year but could of should of I know I get it lol."

The "bad ball," Thomas was referring to was a high pass he received from Carr during the first quarter of the Saints' Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings; Thomas suffered a season-ending knee injury when he was tackled.
Thomas wasn't done there. He added on to that ill sentiment, writing, "on top of that they wasn't even trying to get me the ball but it's no denying my style of play it dont age playa you will see."

In a reply to a separate X thread, Thomas kept the tirade going, saying, "exactly they was mad I defended my buddy Chris when everyone else was scared ?. But remember we don't play the blame game ?? y'all goofy."

Clearly, there's some bad blood between Thomas, Carr and the rest of the Saints' organization. And it makes for an awkward situation, given that Thomas is signed with New Orleans through next season on a $1.2 million base salary along with over $10 million in potential bonuses.
It's tough to imagine that New Orleans will elect to keep Thomas — who was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 after leading the league in receiving yards and receptions — on its roster next season after everything he has said about the organization over social media.
At this point, it's probably best for both sides to cut ties and start the 2024 season off with a clean slate.
