More than 122,000 fans have signed a viral petition demanding the NFL ditch Bad Bunny and swap him out for country legend George Strait.

The petition, which started back in October, exploded this week after the Puerto Rican superstar accepted a Grammy and delivered a politically charged message onstage.

Now the halftime debate is officially a culture war.

The petition argues Strait — the King of Country with over 60 No. 1 hits — better represents "American music's rich heritage" and would appeal to a wider, more traditional audience. The halftime show, it says, "should unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family-friendly."

It goes on to claim Bad Bunny does none of that and slams his past drag performances and political messaging.

At the Grammys, Bad Bunny called for immigration reform and told the audience, "We are humans, and we are Americans," while accepting Best Música Urbana Album.

That speech didn't sit well with some fans. The term "Woke Bowl" started trending online. One petition signer wrote, "I don't want to hear a Spanish performer at the Super Bowl. Inappropriate."

Another added, "He sings in Spanish. That won't do any good at an American football game."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell isn't backing down.

"Bad Bunny is one of the great artists in the world," Goodell said. "We chose him because he understands the platform and knows how to use it to bring people together."

That might be true, but 122,000 fans clearly aren't singing along. With kickoff coming fast, the halftime show might end up being the most talked-about performance of the night, for all the wrong reasons.
