Training camps are in full swing, which means that football fans are preparing to give up their Sunday nights for some much-needed time on the couch.

Of course, this brings up the natural question. Will Carrie Underwood still set up the primetime matches with a new version of her theme song?
NBC Sports says that the answer is "Yes." Underwood will still open every Sunday Night Football broadcast. Though the intro will undergo some changes as the "music video" highlights the recording studio, a small music venue, and a concert in a packed stadium. It will draw inspiration from legendary rocker Joan Jett.
"This year's show open welcomes Sunday Night Football into my ongoing rock star fever dream," Underwood said in a press release.
"I love this new version of the track and, once again, Tripp (Dixon, creative director of SNF's open) and the incredible team behind the camera brought it to life in a whole new way that captures the spirit of this iconic song and the heart of rock 'n' roll. It's one of my most favorite opens yet!"
Underwood has been a mainstay on NBC for 13 years. She made her debut in 2013 with the football broadcast's theme song, and she has remained in this role ever since. Though the theme has undergone changes over the years.
The fans will see the full video for the first time in Week 1 of the NFL season. The New York Giants will host the rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 13. This marks the 15th time that the NFC East rivals have faced off in the opening Sunday Night Football game.
The diehard football fans will get a small glimpse of the updated theme this week. NBC and Peacock will broadcast the Hall of Fame Game between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals on August 6, at 8 p.m. ET. The coverage will include a tease of the theme song.
