New Aaron Rodgers Ankle Video Has Twitter Buzzing With Takes

Aaron Rodgers has spent less than one game as a member of the New York Jets. And that one game came in the first game last season, when he suffered a ruptured Achilles.

So when video surfaces of Rodgers messing with his ankle ... well, needless to say, the Internet catches fire. And guess what happened on Thursday during Jets OTAs?

You guessed it. Rodgers dropped back in a drill, then started limping, then was seen getting treatment on the same foot that was injured last season. Social media blew up. Jets fans in particular freaked out, and understandably so.

But hey, no big deal, reports suggest. First of all, Rodgers ally Pat McAfee of The Pat McAfee Show said he was told that Rodgers was merely dealing with a blister.

Rodgers did indeed return to action at practice, and without issue.

Rodgers, 40, may be getting way up there in age, at least as far as quarterbacking is concerned, but he remains the Jets' greatest hope. They were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders last year. Instead, they finish 7-10.

So, yeah, it makes sense that people might react strongly to the video. And by "strongly," we mean "practically fainting."

As Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report wrote: "Obviously, any potential injury to Rodgers is going to be greeted with scrutiny and plenty of concern in New York after his Achilles tear. The Jets went from being preseason Super Bowl contenders to an absolute calamity on offense without him, finishing 31st in yards (268.6 YPG) and 29th in scoring (15.8 PPG)."

But calm down, everyone. Rodgers is just fine. We think.

The four-time NFL MVP, one-time champion and 10-time Pro Bowler once led the Green Bay Packers to 12 playoff berths. There is still hope he can do the same for the Jets.
