According to a San Francisco Standard report, the incident went down at Dahlia's, a Mission Street nightclub where White was hosting a private party in a downstairs room.
Police say Lil Baby (Dominique Jones) and his crew tried to crash White's private event. That's when tempers flared and White and Lil Baby got into a heated argument.
One witness told police he went upstairs to find security to calm things down. That's when he heard two gunshots. When he came back down, White had been hit in the left leg.
Investigators found both a 9mm shell casing and a .45?'caliber shell casing near the scene. Interestingly, White allegedly refused to tell police who shot him. No suspects have been publicly named.
Early accounts tried to suggest White wasn't even involved in the fight that triggered the shooting. But the police report paints a very different picture.
And then there's this unforgettable line from the officer who wrote the report: "As I entered, I saw numerous scantily clad females picking up dollar bills that were strewn all over the floor. Some of the females were topless and appeared to have been adult entertainers."
Yeah. This thing is wild.
White was treated for a gunshot wound to the ankle and successfully underwent surgery Monday. The 49ers haven't given a timeline for his return to practice, and he could miss part of the offseason program when it starts in April.
If White won't talk, this case could get even messier. But one thing's for sure, it's that this story is far from over.
