Let the tanking begin.
With Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick gone, the New York Jets are handing the keys to the starting quarterback job to Josh McCown over Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg.
Hackenberg struggled a good bit and Petty suffered a knee injury that isn't considered serious.
McCown, 38 years old, is a 14-year veteran who has played for seven separate franchises over his career.
He's started 60 games, throwing for more than 2,000 yards, 79 touchdowns and 69 interceptions.
He started three games for the Cleveland Browns last season.
If it wasn't apparent before, the Jets are clearly focused on a rebuild.
