After attempting a reclamation project on a former top draft pick, the Minnesota Vikings are officially parting ways with wide receiver Jalen Reagor.
Roster cuts are one of the hardest times in the NFL, with veterans and unproven rookies alike waiting to find out if they had been able to fight their way onto the 53-man roster. Unfortunately for Reagor, the Vikings were unable to find a spot for him in a crowded and talented receiver room.
In the wake of roster cuts across the NFL, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Vikings were releasing Reagor on Wednesday, August 30. This news came just after the Vikings had reportedly been attempting to find a trade partner for the former first-round pick.

Regaor was a star in the Big 12 for the TCU Horned Frogs, bursting onto the scene in 2017 as the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year. He went on to earn back-to-back All-Big 12 honors the following two seasons, finishing his Horned Frogs career with 148 catches for 2,248 yards and 22 touchdowns.
After such a strong showing in college, the Philadelphia Eagles took a chance on Reagor with the 21st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, just one pick before the Vikings landed Justin Jefferson. While the Vikings found a superstar with their selection, the Eagles were disappointed with theirs, trading Reagor to Minnesota after just two seasons.
The 24-year-old receiver had a limited impact with the Vikings this past season, starting zero games while catching just eight passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. While the Eagles and Vikings couldn't maximize Reagor's potential, the young receiver is hoping that another team out there is interested in seeing what he's made of.
For the Vikings, they'll still be in great shape at the wide receiver position thanks to Jefferson and the talented rookie out of USC in Jordan Addison.
