Vikings' Addison attempts 'Warzone' revive after Nailor injury

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison had a surprising response on Sunday night when teammate Jalen Nailor landed hard on the turf. He attempted a revive from the battle royale game, "Call of Duty: Warzone."

The surprising moment occurred after Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy ran to his left and threw a touchdown pass to Nailor. The receiver caught the football on the left edge of the end zone and then he slammed onto the ground. He appeared to hit his head while scoring.

Justin Jefferson and other members of the Vikings offense rushed to Nailor and surrounded him as he rolled over in pain. Addison then knelt next to his fellow receiver and pantomimed inserting a needle into Nailor's side.

"I seen my guy, he was down," Addison said after the game. "I had to come hit him with the stim and get him back up. He's still living right now, so he's good. It worked."

The stim is a popular item in the "Call of Duty: Warzone" video game. When a player is upright, they can use it on themselves to gain enhanced health regeneration and increased movement speed. They can also revive other players who have been "downed" by an enemy.

Did Addison's maneuver work? Technically, no, considering that he was just making a motion from a video game. Yet, Nailor returned to the field after undergoing evaluation for a concussion. He added another touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to make the score 30-23. A Will Reichard extra point took the score to 31-23.

"He tried to (revive me)," Nailor said in the locker room. "But I was down for the count. But they bought me back from the buy station, so I take it."

For those keeping score, the buy station is also a key part of the "Call of Duty: Warzone" experience. When a player dies, they go to the "Gulag" to face another competitor in one-on-one combat. If they score a Gulag win, they can parachute back into battle.

If they lose, however, they are essentially dead. The only way for them to return is for another player to go to a crate called the buy station and spend thousands of dollars on their behalf.
