Pacheco Out; Kelce Could See More Looks
Kansas City enters this contest leading the NFC West after narrowly grabbing a 26-25 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. The next few weeks could prove critical for the defending Super Bowl champions as they'll be without superstar RB Isaiah Pacheco. The third year back out of Rutgers fractured his fibula in the Chiefs win over Cincy and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks of action.
While it's certainly a big loss for Andy Reid's squad the loss may promote growth in the passing connection between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The duo has had a slow start to the season with Mahomes targeting Kelce just 7 times in 2 games for 4 receptions, 39 yards and no TDs.
Atlanta Looks to Keep Their Foot on the Gas
As for Atlanta they will look to ride high on the momentum from their 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. Nevertheless, it's still too early to give a verdict on the new look Falcons with veteran QB Kirk Cousins. Against a loaded team like the Chiefs, however, the secondary could be the difference maker for Raheem Morris and his team. Especially with one of their newest additions Justin Simmons. The safety is very familiar with Mahomes from his days as a member of the Chiefs' AFC West rival, the Denver Broncos. Simmons leads all active NFL players with five-career interceptions against the three-time Super Bowl champion.
Kickoff from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the Sunday Night Football game on NBC through their cable television provider. The game is also available through streaming with Peacock, Hulu, DirecTV Stream, fuboTV, and Sling TV.
