The big offensive tackle's agents broke the news ahead of the NFL Draft and provided some contract numbers. This deal is for two years and $50 million, which takes Williams through the 2027 NFL season.

Additionally, this deal includes $37 million in guaranteed money and a $22 million signing bonus. The agents said that this deal makes Williams the first non-quarterback in NFL history to earn more than $400 million in contracts and more than $225 million in guarantees.

"Yes, I can confirm that (deal), and we're really excited about that," general manager John Lynch said during his pre-Draft press conference. "Trent's a phenomenal player.

"As I told Trent when we started this thing, my hope is that his name, his number, are up in those rafters with a lot of great players that have played here. There's a buzz in the building, the players are back, it's the first day back for phase one. But, there's a buzz because what Trent means to this place. So, we're very excited."

The fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Williams has been a mainstay on the offensive line since his rookie season with the then-Washington Redskins. He started 119 of the 120 games in which he was available for Washington, and he earned seven consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl.

Williams missed the 2019 season for multiple reasons. He had a procedure to remove a cancerous growth on his head, and he demanded a trade due to how the team's medical staff treated the situation.

A transaction did not happen during the 2019 season, but the 49ers ultimately worked out a deal to acquire his services ahead of the 2020 season. The team sent a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick to Washington as compensation.

Williams has spent six seasons in the Bay area while starting 84 games. He has earned five more trips to the Pro Bowl and three consecutive All-Pro nominations. Last season, he earned an overall grade of 91.5 from Pro Football Focus. This ranked him third among all offensive tackles.
