The San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers closed out Week 12 with a Monday night matchup. The schedule will move on to Week 13, but the NFL will continue looking at this game for potential penalties.

The reason is that Carolina Panthers safety Tre'von Moehrig and San Francisco 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings had numerous altercations throughout the game and after. This included a punch to the groin.

"As the NFL does with all these types of incidents, the league is looking into the multiple altercations between Tre'von Moehrig and Jauan Jennings, both during and after Monday night's game," NFL insider Tom Pelissero said on "GMFB" on Tuesday.

"The TV cameras caught Moehrig punching Jennings right in the 49ers. Jennings did not take well to that, ended up going after Moehrig after the game. Had to be separated and held back by teammates."

The two players went back and forth throughout the 49ers 20-9 win. They knocked each other to the ground multiple times. The ESPN cameras then showed a close-up view of Moehrig using his left fist to punch Jennings directly in the groin.

The 49ers receiver then stumbled backwards while grabbing his nether regions. He doubled over in pain in front of a referee. Once the game ended, Jennings walked over to Moehrig and smacked him in the facemask.

As Pelissero noted, the league has come down harshly on players for unsportsmanlike conduct. This includes one-game suspensions and fines to Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase and Eagles defender Jalen Carter for spitting. The league also fined Panthers running back Rico Dowdle for the "two pump" celebration made famous by "Key & Peele."

If the NFL deems these actions worthy of penalties, it will notify the players. This will most likely happen on Tuesday as the 49ers prepare for a trip to Cleveland and the Panthers prepare to host the Rams.
