During the team's preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings, third-year wide receiver Cade Johnson suffered a concussion while on the field during a kick return in the second quarter. The Seahawks medical staff quickly responded, getting Johnson onto a stretcher before taking him out of the stadium and to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Gregg Bell with The Tacoma News-Tribune tweeted a photo of Johnson as he left the field, with teammates Tyler Lockett and Noah Fant walking alongside the stretcher to offer support.

Following the game, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll informed reporters that Johnson had suffered a concussion, and although the details he was able to offer were limited, he did share some good news.
"We got a real good report — the early one," Carroll said according to ESPN. "I'm hoping that's conclusive, but that's what we heard."
There have been no further details regarding Johnson's injury, with no clear timetable for his return to the team.
Johnson was an FCS All-American coming out of South Dakota State, but went undrafted during the 2021 NFL Draft. The Seahawks scooped him up as an undrafted free agent, and he has managed to stay with the team ever since. Although he has been stuck behind veteran wideouts including DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Johnson has managed to make an appearance in three NFL games, catching two passes for 21 yards on four targets.
The Seahawks won the preseason opener 24-13 over the Vikings, led by a strong performance from backup quarterback Drew Lock. The former Missouri standout completed 17 of 24 passes for 191 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Their next game will take place on Saturday, August 19 at 10pm ET against the Dallas Cowboys.
