The NFL season is only a few months away, and analyst Peter King unveiled his rankings for the top half of the league on Tuesday.

The Dallas Cowboys checked in at No. 7 on the list, which wasn't that surprising given how many new faces will be playing for the Cowboys next season.
But in King's analysis, he made this prediction about rising sophomore quarterback Dak Prescott:
"Cowboys prediction in 10 words or less: Dak Prescott will be a factor in the MVP race."

King said he doesn't believe in the "sophomore slump," and he thinks if Prescott doesn't play well, it will be because of the offensive line or an injury to Dez Bryant or Ezekiel Elliott.
King pointed out how Prescott's completion percentage was better than Aaron Rodgers' last season, and he only threw four interceptions as a rookie.
He said he's not worried about Prescott next season, but he is concerned about the rest of the team.
As a rookie, Prescott led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Cowboys lost in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers, but there is certainly reason for optimist after seeing how Prescott performed in place of Tony Romo.
If Prescott plays at an MVP level, the Cowboys will be in the mix for the NFC crown again.
