Fans Rip Joe Buck's Monday Night Football Analysis
Buck was on the call for the Bengals and Commanders game. And as usual, fans were unhappy with Buck's analysis during the contest. They did not pull any punches with their comments on social media.
"How many more generations am I stuck listening to Joe Buck & Troy Aikman? Should have been out to pasture a decade ago. Honestly pay a premium for NO announcers or just cut that audio feed. Stadium ambiance only," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Ok I'm not excited about 2 a Monday night games but I just found out I can watch #MNF without Joe Buck.," another added.
"f**ku I forgot primetime meansJoe Buckk is commentating," another user said.
"I gotta listen to Joe Buck for 3 hours??? I don't deserve this," another user said.
"Joe Buck is so bad you can feel your brain losing cells when he's talking," another said.
Analyst Gets Candid About Departure From Fox
Before joining ESPN in 2022, Buck was a color commentator for Fox Sports. The star analyst joined Fox in 1994, spending the majority of his career there.
But in 2022, after nearly 30 years with the network, Fox essentially traded Buck and his broadcast partner Troy Aikman. But even though the decision came as a surprise, Buck says he Harbors no hard feelings for Fox.
"Hurt isn't the word. I'm more grateful at this point. I'm past all that. I'm more grateful that [Fox Sports CEO Eric] Shanks and I left as what we always were, which is friends first," Bucks said when asked if he was "hurt" by Fox's decision.
"When he told me they had worked out a deal with ESPN to make it a reality, it was a lot of thank-yous and he said, "We love you, it makes me sick to my stomach, but we understand why you wanna go."
