Taylor Swift was at the Kansas City Chiefs season opener on Thursday. That's not shocking as she frequently came to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, for much of last season. What was somewhat surprising, though, was the notable absence of Brittany Mahomes in her suite.
Those two were inseparable whenever Swift attended games in 2023. There were videos like this and photos like that which clearly showed how close the two had become.
Mahomes was at the game, obviously, and judging from videos she shared on Instagram, had a box that was somewhere near the 30 or 35-yard line. Swift was shown many times throughout the evening and everyone, it became glaringly obvious that Patrick Mahomes' wife was not in the same booth.
Swift was seen sitting with Kelce's parents.
This led to some fans wondering what's up with that, going to X, formerly Twitter, to share their theories on the one-time besties not being together.
Some made light of the situation, sharing a clip to insinuate Mahomes being locked out of Swift's box of how the two would look at each other from different boxes. Some users, like this one, went the other direction and felt it was all political due to Mahomes' recent public support of Donald Trump.
In a series of Instagram posts, Mahomes doubled down with her support of the former President. Originally, she was called out on social media after "liking" one of his posts regarding his campaign plan, which she then responded to with a vague post about haters.

Swift hasn't shared who she's pulling for in this upcoming election, but in the past, she did endorse Joe Biden. Could the two pals be beefing over their political views?
We'd like to not think so, but what wouldn't be shocking is Swift (or her PR team) trying to keep her image up and having her intentionally not being seen with Mahomes until after the election. One X user, though, felt seeing the two together would have been something America could have used.
Whatever the case may be, all eyes will be on the next time the international pop star is at Arrowhead Stadium. If she's not seen with Mahomes for a second time, then there could be something going on.
