From the Palm Beach Post:

Palm Beach Post news partner WPTV NewsChannel 5 reports that Taylor, 57, was driving south on the Turnpike from Beeline Highway at about about 5:20 p.m. when he became involved in a crash. Taylor switched lanes and hit a motor home and sideswiped a patrol vehicle, WPTV reported.

Taylor was sentenced to six years of probation back in 2011. That sentence stemmed from a conviction for "sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute".

Taylor was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1999 after playing 13 seasons. The linebacker led the league in sacks in 1986 with 20.5, and he helped lead the New York Giants to Super Bowl wins in 1987 and 1991.

The Florida Highway Patrol will be releasing more information on Saturday.
