The Kirk Cousins buzz is already starting.
Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network, on a radio interview with 1090 San Diego, said he thinks it's a "better than 50 percent" chance Cousins won't be back with the Washington Redskins, and he "would not be shocked at all" if Cousins was traded to the San Francisco 49ers during the combine.
Jeremiah said the trade could happen if San Francisco parted with its No. 2 pick in the draft, and the Redskins were willing to kick in their No. 17 pick.

Why would the Redskins trade a 28-year-old quarterback in his prime who they can keep with the franchise tag this year? Money, is what Jeremiah hears. Sure, Cousins threw for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns against 12 interceptions and completed 67 percent of his passes in 2016. But the NFL insider hears there are some in the Redskins organization who don't think Cousins is worth the kind of money he can get on the open market.
The Redskins would like Cousins to sign a long-term deal, but it doesn't make sense for him to do so until after he's tagged. That way, the 'Skins will oay him about $24 million — and risk losing him if they can't agree to a long-term deal.
