NFL Network tosses shade all over the New England Patriots

Shots fired.

The New England Patriots defense was by no means "bad" in 2015-16.

They were a top-10 team in total yards allowed (No. 9), sacks (No. 2), opposing completion percentage (No. 10), rush yards (No. 9) and rushing touchdowns allowed (No. 6).

Somehow, no (zero, nil) New England Patriots defenders made NFL Network's top 100. Here's the breakdown from Pats Pulpit:

"Not a single member of the Patriots defense is expected to make the top 100.

Safeties Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung were ignored. Cornerback Malcolm Butler didn't make it. Linebackers Dont'a Hightower and Jamie Collins are nowhere to be found."

One of the best collective seasons defensively from a sturdy Patriots team goes with no individual accolades (other than Pro Bowlers CB Malcolm Butler, DE Chandler Jones and OLB Jamie Collins).

Look out for New England's defense next year, which should come into the season with a chip on its collective shoulder.

The Patriots open the season Sunday, September 11, against the Arizona Cardinals.
