Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen has formally been charged with two misdemeanors stemming from an alleged drunk-driving incident last month.

Prosecutors charged Allen with operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of .15 or higher and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to ESPN.
Allen, 34, was arrested in downtown Indianapolis on Aug. 30.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a police sergeant encountered Allen at approximately 1 a.m. after the veteran receiver parked in a no-parking zone. The officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol after Allen exited the vehicle.
Police said Allen agreed to a portable breath test, which produced a reading of .224. That figure is nearly three times Indiana's legal limit of .08 and resulted in the more serious Class A misdemeanor charge.
Allen also underwent field-sobriety testing and allegedly displayed several signs of intoxication. A blood sample was later taken, but its results were not included in the affidavit.
The NFL is expected to wait until Allen's court case concludes before determining discipline. League rules call for a minimum three-game suspension for an alcohol-related driving violation, though the punishment can be increased when aggravating circumstances or higher intoxication levels are involved.
Allen is not expected to miss games while the legal process continues. His next scheduled court event is an attorney conference on Oct. 26.
The six-time Pro Bowl selection signed a one-year contract with Indianapolis in August after spending 12 seasons with the Chargers. He caught six passes for 32 yards in his Colts debut.
