As the NFL coaching carousel heats up, Kliff Kingsbury has re-entered the conversation as a potential head coach candidate, but it doesn't sound like he's rushing to take the first job that comes his way.

Kingsbury, now thriving as the offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders, has seen his stock rise significantly thanks to the rapid development of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Daniels, who has been a revelation in Kingsbury's system, was named to the Pro Bowl on Thursday and is a near-lock to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. His impressive play has sparked renewed interest in Kingsbury, a coach who was let go by the Arizona Cardinals after the 2022 season following a 28-37-1 record.
Asked Thursday if he plans to return to a head coaching role in the future, Kingsbury gave a measured response. "Yeah, I'm sure at some point," he said with a smile.
When further pressed about interviewing for jobs, the 45-year-old was non-committal, offering only that he is "very happy" in his current role. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Kingsbury, still being paid by the Cardinals, intends to be selective about any potential opportunities.
He's not just looking for a job; he's looking for the right job.

Kingsbury's tenure in Arizona was a mixed bag, as he led the Cardinals to the playoffs once in four seasons, but failed to secure a postseason win. His situation in Washington, however, is much more promising with a young, dynamic quarterback in Daniels and a chance to build something long-term.
At just 45, Kingsbury has plenty of time to wait for the perfect opportunity. Given how well he's settled in Washington, there's a real chance he stays put for another season, allowing his stock to continue to rise before making any big decisions.
