NFL Stars Can't Believe How Fast Kansas City's Xavier Worthy Is

Xavier Worthy is fast. His record-breaking 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine proved just this with a 4.21. That's why the Kansas City Chiefs traded up in the first round to grab the speedster out of the University of Texas at No. 28.

Coming into his rookie season, there were some expectations set on his shoulders due to the Chiefs' Super Bowl aspirations and their need for another weapon on the outside. Worthy didn't waste any time proving his value as he registered the team's first touchdown of the season in a very fitting way.

When you have that type of speed, it's only right that the coach is going to find a way to get the ball into your hands in any fashion. This includes on reverses, which is how Worthy logged his first score. The receiver scurried for 21 yards to the house, showing his elusiveness and his burst as he blazed past the Baltimore Ravens' defenders.

X, formerly Twitter, quickly was littered with current and former NFL stars commenting on the highlight reel play.

Most notable was fellow speedster, a former Chiefs star, and current Miami Dolphins wideout, Tyreek Hill, he simply wrote, "That boy rolling omg." One of the league's all-time burners, Desean Jackson, pointed out in a post, "This look like that old Andy Reid D Jax connection." This is a reference to when Jackson played under Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles.

J.J. Watt was just as impressive and appears thankful he's not in the league anymore having to chase guys like that, "Xavier Worthy is fast as s—. Good lord." Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III wrote on X, "Xavier Worthy is the definition of SPEED KILLS."

Worthy wasn't done after scoring his first touchdown, either. He tacked on a very important fourth quarter score on a 38-yard catch marking his first receiving touchdown.

Patrick Mahomes spoke very highly of Worthy's addition prior to the game. The team has a few guys with elite speed in Marquise Brown and even Rashee Rice has some juice to him, but Mahomes said that having "him over the top" is something that "opens up the whole entire football field." The All-Pro passer added that someone like Worthy "opens up the entire offense" which is a scary concept for the back-to-back champs.
