NFL's decision to cancel Hall of Fame game came one year too late, as this former player knows all too well

Insane they didn't fix this issue.

At the time the most accurate kicker in franchise history, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham's career was cut short after suffering a "devastating" ACL tear in last year's Hall of Fame game thanks to "poor field conditions" at the Hall of Fame stadium in Canton, Ohio, per the Post-Gazette.

After last night's game was cancelled due to poor field conditions, outrage due to the late decision was the norm. Why one year after Suisham's career was ended, and rookie Byron Stingily suffered a similar injury but was able to return. the NFL hadn't corrected this issue is unknown.

But players reportedly had issues last season, and it's clear the commission developed between the NFL and NFLPA failed.

  • Now the question remains if the the NFL would make the permanent move to Cleveland, where the Browns play on an NFL-ready field, or if they stay at what equates to a high school field in Canton.
