Nick Chubb's Knee Injury Looked so Bad the Broadcast Didn't Replay It

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was carted off the field Monday night after a left knee injury, the same knee he injured in 2015.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was carted off the field during the second quarter of Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and video of the left leg injury looks absolutely devastating.

It was so bad that Joe Buck on ESPN's broadcast said the replay would not be shown. It's making the rounds on social media, but we advise viewing it at your own discretion below.

Chubb's reaction is instantly not good. He's tried to be helped up by his teammates, but he shakes his head as if to say he can't get up.

He was seen wincing on the cart off the field, during which Steelers fans inside Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh cheered for the rival running back. Steelers defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick was also shaken up on the play.

Chubb, who had 10 rushes for 64 yards in the game, was ruled out for the rest of the contest. He rushed 106 yards on 18 attempts last game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

What certainly didn't look great upon replay could be a crushing injury to the 27-year-old who tore three ligaments — his PCL, LCL and MCL — in the same left knee while at Georgia in October 2015. He also missed significant time in 2020 with an MCL injury.

Chubb in the offseason was one of many NFL running backs to meet on Zoom over the state of running back contracts in the league.

"Right now, it's just talking, there's really nothing we can do," Chubb said. "We're kind of handcuffed with the situation, but what I took from it — McCaffrey, Derrick Henry and Saquon all had a lot of good points. The biggest thing is that we're the only position where our production hurts us the most. If we go out there and run 2,000 yards with so many carries, the next year they're going to say you're probably worn down. That's the biggest thing that I took from it. It's tough. It hurts us just to go out there and do well. It hurts us at the end of the day."

Hopefully, the injury isn't as bad as it looks.
