NYDN writer calls out Bill Romanowski for perceived "racist" tweet

There were varying opinions on Cam Newton's Super Bowl appearance.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had a dreadful Super Bowl 50 performance.

He was knocked around, beat up and by the time he spoke with the media after the contest, he was simply done, exiting the presser before it was over.

Following the move, former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski sent out a disparaging tweet calling Newton, "boy." Shaun King of the New York Daily News took offense and responded swiftly.

Romanowski realized his mistake and quickly backtracked.

Romanowski created his fair share of issues while playing in the league, and he hasn't stopped, drawing criticism for comments about Newton earlier in the week leading up to the Super Bowl.
