One mock draft has one NFL team making an all-time terrible decision

He's not worth going that high.

The New York Jets have been waiting 40 years — ever since Joe Namath left the team — for a franchise quarterback.

If they make this pick at No. 6, they may be waiting another 40.

Hold on for this one, Jets fans. Pete Prisco, an analyst for CBSSports.com, projects the New Yorkers taking (deep breath everyone) — quarterback Patrick Mahomes of Texas Tech. Not DeShaun Watson (wouldn't take him); not DeShaun Kizer (definitely wouldn't take him); and not the projected No. 1 QB, Mitch Trubisky (too much of a project).

Sports Illustrated just listed it's top 40 players in the draft, and they have Mahomes at No. 26.  You can see the entire scouting report here, but this is a sample:

Mahomes does indeed face the steep learning curve that comes with a transition from Texas Tech's system to the NFL. He will have to adjust to working under center, at least on occasion, while digesting reads and coverages.

Even with an uninspiring quarterback trip of Josh McCown, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg, this seems like a big, Hell No, to me.
