Jay Glazer and Bob Kravitz both reported Irsay has reached out to Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning about returning to Indianapolis to serve as the team's general manager. They also reported Irsay has tried to gauge Jon Gruden's interest in coaching the team.
Kravitz said it's "unlikely" Manning accepts Irsay's offer.
According to Adam Schefter, Gruden will not leave ESPN to coach the Colts.
This can't be a good sign for the future of both Pagano and Grigson. Irsay clearly wants the Colts to return to prominence, and he doesn't seem to think current the coaching and management system is capable of leading the franchise back to the Super Bowl.
