Packers Interested In Cowboys' Micah Parsons?

Nearly a month ago, Cowboys star Micah Parsons asked out. The very next day, Jerry Jones laughed it off and called it a negotiating ploy. Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, at least one team isn't laughing.

The Packers.

Florio says Green Bay has real interest, though not nearly as much as the social-media smoke makes it sound. A source told him the Packers are "interested," but the buzz out there is exaggerated. And again, none of it matters unless Jerry actually picks up the phone. To this point, nothing he has said indicates the Cowboys are even willing to consider it.

Why would they? Florio notes that Parsons is the type of player who could fetch two first-rounders and maybe more. The Cowboys could get that haul now or in March. Makes no difference for 2025. Unless the offer includes a player who helps them win this year, trading him for draft picks only weakens Dallas.

And then there's the power struggle. As Florio points out, this is about owners flexing after the Watson deal reset the market. The Management Council told them to hold the line, and that's exactly what they're doing.

Florio also makes clear that if Dallas ever did shop Parsons, it likely wouldn't be to an NFC rival. So Green Bay may be dreaming anyway. Still, imagine the Week 4 Sunday nighter on NBC and Peacock: Packers vs. Cowboys, Parsons wearing green and gold. Florio, who works for NBC, admits he's rooting for it.

Until then, this is still Jerry's game. Parsons can ask, Green Bay can hope, and Florio can stir the pot. But unless Jones decides otherwise, the Cowboys' best player is staying put.
