According to the Panthers, Horn was alone in his vehicle when the accident occurred at the intersection of Mint and Morehead Streets in Charlotte. No injuries were reported at the scene, and no one involved required transport by medical personnel.

Horn made it to the team facility following the incident and was evaluated by Carolina's medical staff. He was held out of practice for precautionary reasons.

The team has not shared any further details, but it appears they are simply being cautious. Even so, the situation will be one to monitor.

Horn, 25, is coming off a breakout season in which he earned his first Pro Bowl selection. The former South Carolina standout recorded 68 tackles, 13 passes defended, 2 sacks and one interception in 2023, his fourth year in the league.

Horn was drafted by Carolina with the No. 8 overall pick in 2021. When healthy, he has been one of the anchors of the Panthers' defense.

"No one involved in the incident was transported by emergency medical personnel," per the team website. "Horn has been evaluated by team medical personnel and won't be involved in today's joint practice with the Browns."

The Panthers host Cleveland to open the NFL preseason on Friday night. It is not yet known if Horn will suit up, or would be involved in the game even if he does — given that it's more of an evaluation game.
